Land Use (Real Estate, Construction, Environmental) and EH&S
The Office of Legal Affairs, both at the campus and at the Office of General Counsel, provides legal advice and support for environmental, contract and project review of campus construction and real estate projects, and environmental, health and safety matters, including:
- drafting and reviewing documents and agreements involving the acquisition, sale or lease of real property to and from the University;
- counseling on environmental review, zoning and tax issues related to the University’s real estate, planning and construction activities;
- drafting and negotiating commercial and construction contracts and advising on lawful and effective procurement strategies;
- assisting in the development of new contracting and procurement strategies;
- advising in the development of risk avoidance strategies; and
- handling of disputes and litigation
